Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY

The HR Director plays a key role in helping to build a dynamic employee culture where employees are engaged and find long-term career success. The Human Resources Director conducts personnel-related matters concerning the hospital staff. This includes the area of coordinating and administering policies, procedures and programs that relate to all phases of human resources including employee relations, compensation, benefits, training and development, and recruitment of employment to promote the effective utilization of hospital personnel. Ensures on going compliance with regulatory and licensing requirements, and accreditation standards. Provides the hospital staff and Administration with professional and technical knowledge necessary to meet regulatory requirements, and provides a wide-range of administrative and technical duties.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

A Bachelor Degree with emphasis on human resources/administration is required. A PHR/SPHR certification is preferred. 5 or more years of HR Generalist experience. Applicant must have a thorough general knowledge and understanding of the human resources function with an emphasis in the medical field preferred. Experience in Human Resources or related field required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION: 

  • Must be certified in Verbal De-Escalation within 30days of training and annually thereafter.
  • Must be certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation upon hire and every two years thereafter. 
  • Must complete all required mandatory inservices annually. 
  • Must be tested for Tuberculosis with a PPD skin test or chest x-ray upon hire; PPD skin test required annually or chest x-ray tri-annually thereafter.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains employee records in compliance with Federal and State regulations, and hospital policy.
  • Promotes and environment in which staff can work cooperatively toward objectives.
  • Coordinates new hires, consultants and temporary employee process for the Human Resources Department. Maintains current and former staff files; maintains roster and data base.
  • Ensures current status of all personnel files.
  • Prepares payroll verification functions of the hospital.
  • Works with the Corporate Benefits Department in regards to any hospital or employee enrollment and inquiries regarding benefits.
  • Acts as a liaison with insurance and third-party carriers related to specific employee concerns or benefit programs.
  • Interprets and maintains all paid time-off benefits including PTO, ELB, holiday, bereavement, and jury duty time off plans.
  • Assists in the administration of the hospital’s Leave of Absence program.
  • Assists in the administration of the unemployment program. Answers claims inquiries and represent hospital as requested.
  • Serves and actively participates on the Environment of Care (“EOC”) Committee
  • Establishes efficient systems for the Human Resources Office.
  • Collaborates with all hospital personnel to promote a positive working environment in department and hospital.
  • Collaborates with hospital personnel and medical staff to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Promotes a positive working environment and guest relations.
  • Assumes and/or performs additional duties as requested.
  • Promotes safety by attending mandatory in services and complies with all safety measures initiated by the facility
