Essential Job Duties:

Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, the Infection Control Nurse is responsible for the planning, organization, implementation, evaluation, coordination, and direction of the Infection Control Plan. This is all done in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines set forth for Residential Treatment Centers. The Infection Control function is a primary responsibility of the Director of Nursing and may be performed by the DON. The Employee Health Nurse is responsible for maintaining employee health files and ensures employees are compliant with TB testing and vaccinations.

Qualifications

Job Requirements: 

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Experience: Previous experience in Infection Control is preferred.
• License/Certification: Current LA RN license. Previous training in Infection Control or must complete the training within in 180 days of employment.
• Essential Physical Requirements: Work is demanding physically and mentally, walking, and standing most of the time on duty. Must be able to meet physical demands of lifting, moving over 50 pounds, walking, and standing for long periods of time.EEO Statement
