Newport News Behavioral Health Center offers hope and healing, providing intensive residential and acute treatment, for males and females ages 8-21. This position is responsible for assisting the Director in performing routine and preventive maintenance on all buildings and equipment across 12 facilities on 30 acres. He/She also maintains the company vehicle and building grounds.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in this job description. The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position.

Job Requirements:

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have at least two years of maintenance experience, preferably in a hospital setting. Must be able to demonstrate experience in all of the following areas: electrical and distribution systems (electrical certifications not required), minor electrical work (certifications not required), general plumbing, water and sewer systems, general heating and air conditioning diagnosis (HVAC certifications not required), drywall work and painting, gardening and landscaping, powered equipment, automotive upkeep, and safety and fire protection.
