We are currently seeking a Nurse Educator for Riveredge Hospital. Simply apply to the posting and discuss your interests with the Chief Nursing Officer and Director of Nursing if you are selected to come in for an interview.

Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer and Director of Nursing the Nurse Educator implements, coordinates, and monitors the staff development and education for the nursing division. Under the direction and collaboration of the Director of Nursing and Director of Human Resources, the Nurse Educator assists in planning, developing and implements orientation program for new employees. Plans, develops, implements, and monitors hospital-wide in-service/staff development programs with consideration for the age, gender and population served. Maintains and monitors accurate, up to date educational files on all hospital employees with the Human Resources department. Develops mechanism to motivate/foster employee attendance at hospital-wide and departmental specific in-service/staff development programs. Work as an RN or House Supervisor as needed. Manage flex pool nursing staff. Keeps abreast of new developments in staff education and mental health. The Nurse Educator is required to be a part of the rotation for being on call as part of the nursing leadership team.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited BSN program required. MSN preferred.

Experience: Prefer 5 years clinical experience with a psychiatric mental health population; 3 years within a previous clinical education role in an inpatient psychiatric setting preferred; and administrative/ management experience preferred.

Licensure/Certification: Licensed by the State of Illinois as a registered nurse.

Knowledge:  Prefer knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing principles, working concepts and theory, leadership skills, age specific growth and development, limit setting, crisis and behavior management.

Supervision Received: Chief Nursing Officer and Director of Nursing
