This ICU Director opportunity is full time at 40 hours per week, offers full benefits and a convenient day shift schedule. This dynamic individual will provide administrative leadership by directly supervising the staff and functions of assigned departments. Assures quality care is provided in a safe, timely and effective manner. Consults with staff, physicians and CNO on nursing problems and interpretation of hospital policies to ensure patient needs are met. Participates in and maintains performance improvement activities within the department. Director has 24/7 operational responsibility for the department. 

 

Job Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Oversees development, implementation and evaluation of short and long term goals, objectives, policies and procedures ensuring consistency with organizational mission and goals.  Ensures the assigned department’s goals coincide with the Hospital’s strategic plan linking goals and objectives to outcomes.  Communicates timely and effectively to ensure the leadership team and staff is well informed concerning plans and issues.
  • Assists the managers in promoting the clinical service lines, new program development and strategy by engaging team members to enhance market share/expansion.  Develops business plans or request for proposals as requested/required. Understands the impact of market forces on Hospital objectives and direction.
  • Ensures highest integrity for the business operations for assigned departments.  Oversees the development of capital and operating budgets through collaboration with CNO.  Strategically positions the department to react effectively to unplanned circumstances, demands and challenges while creating revenue enhancements and cost reduction practices.
  • Provides regular feedback to managers concerning performance and ensures departments comply with timely completion of appraisal period and annual evaluations.  Obtains feedback from other managers/physicians concerning performance of the department.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, baccalaureate degree required and master’s in a healthcare related field preferred.
  • Current state Registered Nurse Licensure.
  • Four years of general clinical nursing experience preferred and four years of managerial experience of demonstrated leadership abilities at the director level.
  • Three (3) or more years of previous experience in all aspects of nursing and a minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience.
  • Current BCLS and ACLS certification.
