What are the responsibilities and job description for the MARKET RESEARCH ANALYST position at UHS?
The Market Research Analyst identifies market targets for business growth across the solutions portfolio. Develops data driven reports based on market. Develops bed need analysis and graphs for internal and external customers.
- Studies data and identifies opportunities for new and innovative healthcare delivery.
- Utilizes a variety of data sources such as surveys, focus group and interviews to collect data on client needs, preferences, demographics and habits.
- Utilizes statistical techniques and software to evaluate data and interpret what it means for the organization and client.
- Identifies and studies competitors and their marketing methods, prices, sales to determine potential markets and product demand.
- Creates presentations, visual aids such as charts and graphs to communicate the result of research efforts to senior leadership.
- Uses data to forecast trends.
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders to negotiate contract terms.
- Provides support to support to peers and product team.
- Ensures the products are in compliance with governmental and regulatory requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned/required by this position.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree; Master's degree preferred in Marketing Research, Statistics, Math or related field required.
- Minimum five years of experience in market research.
- Experience with health industry data, including diagnostics/DRGs, claims data, demographics, geospatial data, provider types, levels of care, etc..
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to creatively solve problems.
- Must be familiar with healthcare trends, competition, qualitative data and strategies.
- Thorough, with the ability to effectively communicate information and ideas both verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge of planning, coordination and execution of business functions.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintain an effective collaborative working relationship with peers and support staff.
