Overview
Summary:
Work activities will include operating various pieces of Heavy Equipment including road graders, rock trucks, bulldozers, scrapers, shovels, excavators, tractors, loaders, and forklifts.
Essential Functions:
Perform heavy duty equipment operation as directed by the site superintendent and/or foremanAdditional duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
Required Skills:
Must have operators proficiency on a variety of equipment including but not limited to road graders, rock trucks, bulldozers, scrapers, shovels, excavators, tractors, loaders, and forklifts.
- Perform independently without direct supervisionAbility to operate basic construction equipment, such as forklifts and loaders.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform duties and operation of tools of the trade in strict compliance with OSHA rules.
- Have punctual and on time work history.
- Work well within a team setting
Knowledge and Critical Skills/Expertise:

Must have working knowledge of heavy construction
- Must have 1 years of related experience in construction.
- Must have 1 year of prior work history as an operator
- Must possess and maintain current drivers license.

- Must have a high school diploma or Equivalent
Qualifications
Authorized Driver Requirement: Employee must have a valid driver’s license and three (3) year clean driving record. Employee must follow all Authorized Driver Policy and Procedures regarding approved vehicle usage.
All employees must pass Non-DOT pre-employment drug screening and follow all UIC Non-DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing Program guidelines and requirements.
If working on a DOT project, employees must pass a DOT pre-employment drug screening and follow all DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing Program requirements.
Candidates must pass a background check in order to fill this position.
