Position Overview:
The QA Auditor is responsible for conducting inspections, tests, and verifications to ensure the highest quality standards for potato chip production. This role requires attention to detail and accuracy to maintain compliance with quality control procedures, while also contributing to the smooth operation of the production process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pre-Operational Inspection:
- Perform a pre-operational inspection at the start of each shift to ensure equipment and the production environment are ready for use.
- Set-Up Parameters:
- Verify that the correct setup parameters are in place before each product run, ensuring proper configuration of equipment and materials.
- Production QC Checklist:
- Complete all tests and verifications as required by the Production QC Checklist, including:
- Case codes
- Machine speeds
- Case dates and counts
- Package labels and sizes
- Package code dates
- Target weights
- Pricing
- Production film and lot numbers
- Seasoning brand, flavor, and lot numbers
- Salt lot numbers
- PDQ tests (as applicable)
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Document any issues, nonconformities, or discrepancies and report them immediately to the supervisor. Ensure that all findings are accurately recorded on the appropriate forms.
- Product Holds:
- Assist in placing product holds if quality standards are not met, ensuring that nonconforming products are segregated for further inspection.
- Record Keeping:
- Retain and maintain detailed records of all tests, verifications, and quality checks performed throughout the shift.
- Work Area Maintenance:
- Keep the work area clean and organized as time permits, following safety and hygiene protocols.
- Special Projects and Quality Issues:
- Provide support on special projects or quality-related issues as needed to uphold production standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred.
- Previous experience in quality assurance or food manufacturing is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and reporting.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and quality control processes is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with variable temperatures.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.50 per hour
