We are seeking a Full Stack Developer to join our team in Ashburn, Virginia to support the ongoing modernization and maintenance systems for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Customs and Border Protection (CBP) program.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
The candidate will be responsible for:
- Design and implementation of JEE software applications.
- Use modern software engineering tools and methodologies including Eclipse, WebSphere, Hibernate, Struts2, and Atlassian Products (Jira, Confluence).
- Work with users in an Agile development approach to understand requirements, elicit feedback and refine solutions through demonstrations.
- Present the solution at formal and informal design reviews, and document the design according to the Government's system lifecycle methodology.
- 8 years of hands-on development experience using Java JEE.
- Hands-on experience using the following tools:
- HTML, JavaScript, CSS, XML and JSON
- SQL
- jQuery, JSTL, Struts Taglibs
- JEE Web Tier Technologies (Servlets, Struts2)
- EJBS, JMS, Kafka
- Web services (SOAP and Restful)
- Unix/ Linux
- JEE Server experience (WebLogic, WebSphere etc.)
- Database Connectivity (JDBC, JPA, Hibernate)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field with applicable experience is required. Applicable work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- This federal program requires the candidates to be a United States Citizen.
- Must have a current CBP BI clearance or be eligible to obtain one.
- Any related systems engineering, or related technical certifications are desired.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to convey technical information to non-technical individuals.
- Demonstrated experience communicating effectively across internal and external organizations.
- Must work well in a matrixed team environment.
- This is a hybrid position.
- Mainly sedentary; in an office environment
- May be required to lift up to ten (10) pounds
- Flexible in working extended hours
