We are seeking a Project Manager to support a Federal agency in Washington, DC. The candidate will be responsible for managing tasks, creating project plans, documenting processes, identifying issues, and analyzing complex situations. They will be responsible for developing solution strategies and making recommendations to senior level agency management. This role will also be responsible for quality assurance as well as assigned key projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and facilitate meetings including the development and communication of meeting agendas, minutes, and the tracking of action items though dashboards or other systems.
- Coordinate and facilitate working groups and user groups as well as user support.
- Assist with the development of program/project plans, tasks, and schedules.
- Formulate plans and make recommendations that influence changes in business practices and policies.
- Establish measures to capture business benefits.
- Provide general project management support including the development of project management documentation.
- Identify milestone dates to ensure proper sequencing of events, work efforts, and resources to accomplish objectives.
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Review and update existing SOPs or documentation.
- Prepare drafts and final versions of documentation, procedures, and business process maps. The contractor may be required to provide a document outline prior to draft documents.
Work Experience:
- 5 years of professional experience in project management and/or processes.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects, committees, user groups and working groups.
- Demonstrated experience documenting processes.
- Technical writing skills in communicating at all levels within an agency/organization to provide guidance and instructions.
- Experience in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Project.
- Financial, Housing and/or Mortgage industry experience is preferred; GSE experience is a plus (Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac).

Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Information Systems required or any equivalent four year Bachelors degree is required.
Communication Skills:
- Solid ability to interface, inspire and motivate at various levels of the organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with keen attention to detail and organization.
- Must be able to communicate confidently to executive level management.
- Polished presentation skills.
- Demonstrated experience communicating effectively across internal and external organizations.
Environmental Requirements:
- Mainly sedentary; in an office environment.
- May be required to lift up to ten (10) pounds.
- Flexible in working extended hours.
