Job Title: Electrical SolidWorks Designer
Location: Woburn, MA (100% onsite)
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical SolidWorks Designer to join our team for a contract position in Woburn, MA. The ideal candidate will have in-depth experience using SOLIDWORKS Electrical and be capable of working with electrical schematics, P&ID interpretations, and loop drawings. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams, while also mentoring other engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Drafting:
- Design and draft general wiring schematics, segment schematics, and loop schematics in SOLIDWORKS Electrical.
- Network Architecture & Layouts:
- Draft network architecture diagrams and detailed layouts using SOLIDWORKS Electrical.
- CAD Library Management:
- Create, manage, and expand the CAD library of hardware components to include more commonly used parts and ensure it is maintained for the team.
- File Management:
- Maintain and manage the electronic CAD filing system on the corporate network for assigned projects.
- Mentorship & Training:
- Mentor and train a team of 4 existing electrical engineers on using SolidWorks Electrical effectively.
- Migration & Conversion:
- Assist with the migration and conversion of 2D DraftSight drawings into SolidWorks Electrical.
- Collaboration:
- Work with the Mechanical Design team to establish connections to the existing library, designs, and Vault system.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong proficiency and hands-on experience with SOLIDWORKS Electrical.
- Solid understanding of interpreting P&ID's, electrical schematics, loop drawings, and general arrangement drawings.
- Assertive, proactive, and able to work well in a team environment with a friendly and helpful attitude.
- Strong written, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CSWA-Electrical certification is highly preferred.
