Position Summary: The Human Resources Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department. Responsible for fostering an environment for all bankers that creates a positive employee experience and supports Unity Bank as an employer of choice within our communities.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of human resources professionals, providing guidance, resources, and hands-on support to champion the teams’ success and ensure an employee-centric work culture that ensures a high standard of service delivery and positive work environment.
  • Process Optimization: Develop and implement strategies to optimize the employee experience, with focus on efficiency, accuracy, and enhancing communication and development across the footprint.
  • Employee Onboarding: Oversee the onboarding process for new employees and those who change positions, ensuring smooth transition and addressing any initial inquiries or concerns.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with a variety of teams across the bank to understand HR needs in order to continuously improve the employee experience and support organizational goals.
  • HR Administration: Oversee and have the ability to perform daily human resources activities including but not limited to, recruiting, payroll, benefit administration, and supporting the overall employee relationship and life cycle.
  • Annual Processes: Lead and oversee the annual benefit renewal and open enrollment process. Annually review and update organizational policies including but not limited to employee handbook, HR policy, and affirmative action plan.
  • Employee Relations: Act as a lead for employee relations issues requiring further investigation. Guide and educate the human resources department on employee relations process to ensure consistency in practice and application.
  • Reporting and Audits: Lead internal and external reporting and audit requests. Generate and analyze reports on employee metrics and provide recommendations for areas of improvement.
  • Continuous Improvement: Recommend process improvements to efficiently support the human resources department and Bank as a whole. Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Compliance: Stay updated on human resources laws and regulations and ensure adherence with relevant laws, industry standards, regulations, and internal policies and procedures. Oversee the development and maintenance of current procedure and best practice documentation to ensure adherence with policy and procedure and provide a consistent employee experience.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Seven (7) years human resources experience or combination of education and experience.
  • Prior management experience preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP desired.

Work Environment: Collaborative, trust-based, transparent, supportive, and comfortable community atmosphere. This position may include opportunities to travel across our footprint, working with customers, community members, and our Unity Team.

This position may require prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
