Southeast Behavioral Hospital is excited to begin offering a full continuum of inpatient and outpatient services to the people of Southeast Missouri. Our 102-provides a wide range of mental, emotional and behavioral health services for children, teens, adults and seniors experiencing mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety and co-occurring substance use issues. POSITION SUMMARY

The Driver is responsible for operating facility vehicles in a safe, efficient, and responsible manner while transporting patients to and from the facility for scheduled treatments and appointments. The Driver is also responsible for assisting with ensuring that the vehicle is properly maintained and ready for safe use by maintaining a high level of cleanliness and by conducting regular inspections and reporting any mechanical discrepancies and/or malfunctions. The Driver is also responsible for exhibiting the highest level of Service Excellence while engaging in continuous observation, interaction, role-modeling, and patient safety practices at all times. This position will also serve as a Mental Health Tech (MHT) when not transporting patient. The MHT is a direct patient care position.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High school graduate or equivalent required.

Experience: Previous experience working with patients of all ages preferred. One year of experience driving a van type vehicle preferred.

Additional Requirements: Must have a valid Class E driver's license and have a clear driving record. Crisis Prevention Intervention training (or Handle with Care) certification, Verbal De-Escalation training required as well as CPR certification. Certifications may be obtained during new hire orientation. May be required to work flexible hours and overtime. MHT training consists of 100 hours of on the job training and classroom review.
