IT Lab Technician
We are looking for a talented self-starter who is an experienced Unix and Windows Administrator to join the Computer Science Department at University at Albany. This is a full-time professional staff position with a 12-month obligation reporting to the Chair of Computer Science within the College of Nanotechnology, Engineering, and Sciences. The IT Lab Technician’s key functions are to maintain teaching laboratory facilities and equipment, organize and maintain equipment inventories, and design, build and test specialized computer equipment as needed for teaching and research.
Job Requirements :
Demonstrated experience installing and configuring Windows operating systems, Unix operating systems, and Linux operating systems on various hardware platforms.
Required Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
- 2 to 3 years of experience in the IT field
- Demonstrated experience installing and configuring Windows operating systems, Unix operating systems, and Linux operating systems on various hardware platforms
