Position Overview
This is a regular student technical position serving as the Techceptionist for UCO’s LX Studio in downtown Oklahoma City. The Techceptionist (also referred to as the Customer Support Specialist) assists students, faculty, staff, clients, and guests in supporting the classrooms, labs, meeting spaces, and department during the day and evening hours. Primary duties include greeting visitors and promptly responding to any issues with the facility, technology, and service.

LX Studio, located in downtown Oklahoma City.
Department Specific Job Functions
Techceptionist duties may include, but are not limited to:
Fall/Spring Semesters: All student employees must be enrolled at least half-time to be eligible to work any UCO student position. Half-time enrollment for fall/spring semesters is considered 5 hours for graduates and 6 hours for undergraduates. International students must be enrolled full-time to be eligible to work as a student employee. Full-time enrollment is 9 credit hours for graduates and 12 credit hours for undergraduates.
Summer Semester: Student employees working regular student positions must be enrolled in at least 3 credit hours to be eligible to work during the summer. Students not enrolled in summer classes must be enrolled in fall classes in order to work during the summer, but they (and the department) will be required to pay FICA taxes. Student employees working FWSP positions must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours (if undergraduate) or 5 credit hours (if graduate) in order to work during the summer in a Federal Work Study Program position.
Enrollment Exception: If the number of credit hours needed to graduate is less than the minimum number of hours required for student employment, the student must obtain a letter from their Academic Advisor (stating the number of hours needed to graduate and anticipated graduation date) and submit it to Human Resources. This pertains to both regular and Federal Work Study Program positions. Contact for more information.

Department Specific Job Functions
Techceptionist duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting LX Studio’s reputation that offers excellent customer support for all activities at the downtown OKC locations as well as our online presence.
- Being accountable and responsible to LX Studio.
- Preparing classrooms and meeting spaces to customized or requested preferences.
- Providing excellent customer service to students, faculty, staff, clients, and guests, including identifying their needs to help them use the facility, classroom, and technology to fit their needs.
- Providing immediate on-site support to students, faculty, staff, business incubators, clients, and guests.
- Collaborating with the department management team, to identify and resolve customer service needs and monitor user feedback.
- Communicating day-to-day reception updates to Techceptionist support staff.
- Collecting feedback from students, faculty, staff, clients, and guests; and preparing reports, spreadsheets, and presentations of the results.
- Providing basic technical support for instructors in classroom settings.
- Providing basic troubleshooting of any technology issues.
- Assisting with departmental operations.
- Assisting in descriptive, exploratory or experimental research, data collection, data management, data analysis, and creating reports and spreadsheets.
- Updating website content.
- Possibly being an on-call contact for on-duty Techceptionists for troubleshooting IT and facility usage issues/concerns.
- Performing administrative tasks as directed by supervisor.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
