The Assistant/Associate Professor in MFT will teach classes in the Master of Arts, Clinical Doctoral, and Non-Clinical MFT Programs including clinical supervision of internship students as well as maintain an active program of research, which includes the pursuit of external funding for research. In addition, the candidate will be expected to actively engage in departmental, university, and professional service and perform student academic and career advisement. They must also be able to collaborate effectively with colleagues on training, program development, and accreditation activities.

The Assistant/Associate Professor of Marriage & Family Therapy will:
- Maintain a teaching load not to exceed nine (9) credit hours per Fall and Spring semester (Summer course load optional)
- Provide academic and career advisement of MFT students
- Maintain an active research program
- Provide clinical supervision of MFT students
- Mentor student’s research as applicable
- Maintain an active service program, including departmental, school, college and University committee service
- Maintain an active clinical and/or supervision practice
- Pursue external sources of funding for research opportunities
- Participate actively in professional, honorary, and accrediting organizations
- Engage personally in professional activities that meet or exceed standards for graduate faculty
- Collaborate effectively with departmental and inter-departmental colleagues on training, program development, and accreditation activities
- A doctoral degree from a COAMFTE accredited program is required
- Demonstrated record of or potential for scholarly productivity in the field appropriate for rank
- Experience in providing MFT clinical services
- Current and unencumbered MFT licensure in the state of Louis
- Eligible for AAMFT Approved Supervisor and Louisiana state approved supervisor status
- Ability to successfully teach (including designing and implementing online courses) in a university setting as evidenced by course evaluations
- Hold AAMFT Membership
Preferred Qualifications for Assistant Professor:
- Evidence of a strong research agenda
- Experience in pursuing external funding for research or service
- Experience teaching in a University setting and in an online format
- Hold the AAMFT Approved Supervisor Credential
Salary : $55,000
