The Instructor holds a full-time 9 month faculty appointment and has teaching, service, and scholarship responsibilities consistent with the mission and vision of the university, college, and academic program. We are looking to fill this position by Fall 2025.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Maintaining a workload not to exceed 12 credit hours of teaching per fall and spring semester and 6 credit hours of teaching in the summer semesters.Performing duties to continue to meet the requirements of an ASHA CAA accredited program.Collaborating with faculty to develop, monitor, and refine curricular components.Facilitating quality learning experiences for students.Implementing innovative engagement strategies for students across all learning environments.Fostering an academic climate that facilitates professional growthEvaluating students' performance to determine their ability to integrate didactic and clinical learning experiences and to progress within the curriculum.Conducting research and engaging in the scientific study of human communication to instruct clinicians in evidence-based practice and provide the best care to clients.Providing clinical education to graduate students which includes: Reviewing individual files to obtain background information prior to evaluation to determine appropriate tests and to ensure that adequate information is available.Administering, scoring, and interpreting specialized speech-language and hearing tests.Diagnosing and evaluating speech and language skills as related to educational, medical, social, and psychological factors.Planning, directing, or conducting habilitative and rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency of individuals with communication problems of organic and nonorganic etiology.Providing counseling, guidance, and treatment to populations with special needs.Maintaining records as required by law, University of Louisiana Monroe policies, and administrative regulations.
