Position Description
Advertised Job Summary
The Associate Scientist (AS) will have the ability to coordinate the drug optimization efforts, prepare NIH R24, R01, and R44 applications for funding,and assist in translating CFN therapeutics into the application. Therefore, the Associate Scientist should have significant knowledge, skillsets, and network ability to execute drug discovery projects, especially on G-proteins and their associated signaling pathways. The Associate Scientist will have the ability to securesignificant funding to push CFN neurotherapeutics towards applications. The Associate Scientist will develop and maintain an evolvingnetwork-based small G-protein drug discovery resources database open to the global research community. An additional duty will be to teach and trainPost Doctoral Fellows and graduate students on mastering tools of drug design.
Job Related Minimum Required Education And Experience
Requires a terminal degree (PhD or similar) in an area of research specialty and three years of post-graduate job-related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials Preferred Qualifications
A Ph.D. degree in drug design with at least five years of postdoctoral experience in G-protein drug design and productivity in greater than 2 publications annually.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Experience in G-protein drug design and productivity in greater than 2 publications annually.
Skills include machine learning code writing, website database construction and maintenance, NIH grant writing experience, and PPI-GaMD.
