Position Summary Assists with curriculum preparation, classroom facilitation, and student monitoring to ensure safety and foster an environment of learning and development.
Interacts regularly with parents. Responsibilities
- Assists with the planning and facilitation of classroom programming and classroom coordination and organization for a early childhood education facility according to established curriculums
- Maintains the safety and physical well-being of children in a designated classroom
- Updates and organizes individualized and developmental educational plans for children
- Assists with basic technical and administrative classroom support
- Documents effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to relay pertinent information and provide updates of child activities per established guidelines and regulations
Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required :
- High school diploma
- Be at least 18 years of age and meet DCF 251.05 (3) (g)
- Experience working with young children.
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff
- Able to acquire Registry Certificate at a level 5 or higher or eligibility to register at level 5
- Completed approved childcare course or willing to complete online within 6 months of start date
- CPR certified within 6 months of start date
- Successful completion of a post-offer employment test.
Preferred :
- Associate degree in early childhood or related field
- Two years or more experience working with infants, toddlers, and / or preschool aged children in a classroom.
