UPI Manufacturing, a leader in metal fabrication for military vehicle components, is seeking a skilled Material Handler to join our team. This position is critical for ensuring smooth operations in shipping, receiving, and warehouse management.
About the Role:The Material Handler will spend most of their day operating a forklift to load outgoing shipments, unload incoming shipments, and move products between departments and buildings. They will prepare packaged products for shipping, maintain a safe and organized dock area, and assist with inventory control while ensuring all tasks are completed to UPI's high standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Report directly to the Material Manager.
- Operate forklifts to load and unload trucks efficiently.
- Wrap and strap pallets for shipping, ensuring product is prepared securely.
- Move products to the next operation, including physical handling when needed.
- Label products according to UPI standards and stage full truckload shipments.
- Maintain and organize a clean and safe dock area.
- Verify kind, count, and condition of incoming and outgoing parts.
- Receive shipments into the Epicor ERP system and print tags as needed.
- Use Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.) for documentation and communication.
- Assist with inventory control and maintain accurate records.
- Review paperwork to ensure all details align with shipment requirements.
Qualifications:
- Proven forklift operating experience (certification preferred).
- Familiarity with ERP systems (Epicor experience is a plus).
- Experience in shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
