Role: Senior Solar Technician
Location: York, PA (with occasional travel to MD, DE, and NY)
Job Type: Long-term contract with the possibility of direct hire
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Solar Technician to join our team in York, PA. In this role, you will maintain and operate utility-scale solar power plants, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Key Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot PV systems, including inverters, modules, transformers, switchgear, and metering systems.
- Utilize SCADA systems to oversee plant performance.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on AC/DC electrical systems.
- Conduct medium and high voltage switching and testing.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including Lockout Tag Out (LOTO) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
Experience:
- 4 years in a related role or Journey-level certification.
- Hands-on experience in SCADA operations, troubleshooting advanced electrical systems, and performing equipment maintenance.
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
- Electrical certifications (e.g., Journeyman) are highly preferred.
- Military, utility, or power industry training is a plus.
Skills:
- Proficiency in electrical safety, arc flash standards, and national/local codes.
- Strong ability to test and troubleshoot medium/high-voltage equipment.
- Valid Driver’s License (required).
Physical & Travel Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs., climb ladders, kneel, bend, and work in extreme weather conditions.
- Travel as needed to sites in MD, DE, and NY based on plant performance needs.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
