Position Title: Patient Services Coordinator – Bilingual (English / Spanish)

Reports To: Access to Care Manager
Position Summary: The Patient Services Coordinator is expected to maintain a friendly, open-minded, and welcoming demeanor with all individuals interacting with the Agency. As the first point of contact, whether in person or via phone, the incumbent will guide guests through our services, staff directory, and available community resources. Additionally, the Patient Services Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the front lobby, ensuring it remains hospitable, organized, and safe for all visitors and staff.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Maintain knowledge of agency operations, procedures, and staff while communicating effectively with guests and staff.
- Perform Covid screenings, register patients, verify and update demographic information, and assist with scheduling appointments.
- Manage the main phone line, direct inquiries, and connect guests to the appropriate departments or community resources.
- Maintain updated external community resources
- Ensure a hospitable, organized, and safe front lobby; train and manage front desk volunteers and serve as back-up receptionist when needed.
- Check in patients for their medical appointments, verify demographic information and update registration for patients.
- Contact new and existing patients to collect personal, financial, and asset information; ensure understanding of clinic policies and scan necessary documents.
- Review and process patient applications for eligibility, services, medications, and referrals, ensuring accurate input in the electronic medical record.
- Assist with administrative duties such as voicemails, returning calls, email responses, scanning, and filing documents.
- Support volunteers and interns in training, scheduling, patient interviewing, and other duties as assigned.
- Use medical interpreter services as needed for non-Spanish speaking patients.

WORK SCHEDULE: Forty (40) hour work week - Monday through Thursday 8:30 am – 6:30pm
Language Requirements: This position requires an individual who is fluent in English and Spanish, verbally and in written form. Employee is expected to perform all duties and responsibilities of this position in English andSpanish, as required by the clients and departmental needs. This may include simple translation tasks and / or language interpretation at the intermediate level.

Work is performed in an office environment; incumbent must be able to perform duties using standard office equipment (phone, fax, computer, etc.), move from one story to another as needed (stairs / elevator accessible) to perform tasks / assignments, must be able to carry / transport up to 10 lbs. periodically / as needed.
