Position Summary:
As the Plant Manager, you will oversee all manufacturing activities and assume full site
responsibility for our operations, leading efforts to enhance productivity, quality, and safety.
Reporting to the VP of Global Operations, you will work closely with both internal plant
management and external contractors to ensure the efficient production of high-quality products
that meet both company standards and client expectations. This role requires a hands-on, safety-
driven leader with the ability to motivate a diverse team and continuously seek improvements
that align with our strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety and Compliance: Champion a safe work environment by continuously promoting
a culture of safety among employees, contractors, and visitors, ensuring adherence to
federal, state, and local regulations. - Production Oversight: Direct all production activities to maximize cost-effectiveness
and ensure compliance with quality standards and performance metrics. - Facility Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance of plant property and equipment to
ensure compliance with government regulations and achieve effective and economical
operations. - Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and submit detailed operating reports to management,
providing insights and recommendations for improved efficiency. - Customer Service and Relations: Ensure timely delivery of quality products to support
customer satisfaction and strengthen client relationships. - Operational Compliance: Maintain strict compliance with company policies, supported
by corporate guidance, across all plant operations. - Resource Management: Optimize the use of materials, manpower, and equipment to
maximize efficiency and cost-effectiveness. - Financial Oversight: Review job cost and financial reports to ensure alignment with
budget targets and profitability goals. - Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements aligned with organizational objectives.
- Leadership and Mentorship: Manage, coach, and mentor staff, fostering a collaborative and performance-driven work culture.
- Additional Duties: Execute additional tasks as assigned to fulfill the plant's strategic objectives.
Required Experience:
- 7-10 years of experience as a Plant Manager, with demonstrated leadership in an
industrial or manufacturing setting. - Proven expertise in managing Hazmat, Emergency Response, OSHA compliance, GMP,
ISO/BRC standards, Lean manufacturing, and 6S principles. - Strong cost management experience.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Skills - Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Goal-oriented, with the ability to set and achieve specific, measurable objectives.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project) and
familiarity with MRP/PLM systems. - Demonstrated success in driving change and achieving challenging objectives.
- Advanced expertise in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma, including tools like pull
systems, Kanban, process mapping, and standard work. - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of effective root-
cause analysis and solution implementation. - Leadership qualities that inspire a shared vision, challenge the status quo, and drive
transformation. - Customer service-focused with the ability to foster strong internal and external
relationships. - Self-motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Knowledge:
- Experience in the textile or medical device industry.
- Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
- Expert-level knowledge in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Bilingual English and Spanish.
