USA Compression is Hiring a Construction Manager Near Victoria, TX

Key Business ObjectivesThis position is responsible for all facets of construction and project management, supporting the USAC Station Services department. In addition to managing and executing construction projects, the employee will be expected to provide estimating support to the Business Development team in efforts to pursue new opportunities with customers. They will work closely with procurement, engineering, and drafting during the project's up-front engineering and design phases and throughout the duration of project execution. The employee will report to the Director of Station Services and Gas Treating while working closely with internal USAC personnel as well as 3rd party contractors. All USA Compression employees are responsible for maintaining a safe and professional work environment.
Duties And Responsibilities
  • Responsible for providing internal estimates for all USAC Station Services construction projects
  • Work with outside construction contractors to provide bids for services to USAC
  • Manage all aspects of project management and construction for all USAC Station Services projects
  • Work with internal USAC Engineering and 3rd party engineering firms to ensure that all drawing packages are completed properly and approved for construction
  • Attend customer meetings with USAC Business Development personnel providing subject matter expertise related to prospective projects
  • Manage costs for all ongoing USAC Construction Projects to ensure profitability and efficiency
  • Maintain proper certifications related to construction work for specific states where USAC performs work
  • Manage USAC Station Services asset idle fleet to ensure mechanical integrity and supervise all make-ready processes to ready equipment for deployment
  • Work with USAC Gas Treating to provide site construction and project management assistance and expertise when warranted
  • Work with procurement to ensure all materials are purchased and ready for deployment at the proper times for construction projects
  • Work with USAC Operations to provide seamless transition from completion of construction to commissioning of facilities
  • Provide post-mortem financial job reviews for each construction project
  • Any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor

Skills/Capabilities And Education
  • College degree preferred or related experience in the natural gas industry.
  • Minimum of eight years of field experience in construction and regulations in the natural gas industry.
  • Three to five years’ experience in managing others.
  • Superior customer service skills, both internal and external.
  • Expertise in electrical, structural, mechanical, non-destructive testing, welding, and instrumentation.
  • Ability to understand written and verbal communication from the company and supervisor including training, procedures, instructions, etc.
  • Ability to effectively organize multiple pieces of information and know how to gather needed information.
  • Applicant must have the ability to legally work in the U.S.
Working Conditions
  • The employee spends most of the time sitting or standing in a comfortable position with ample opportunity to move about.
  • Travel is required and is expected to be approximately 50% - 75% of the time worked.
  • Ability to perform in a high-stress environment
  • The employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk on uneven and varied terrain, climb ladders and stairs, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, and crawl depending on the task requirements.
  • There is a strong emphasis on safety while working with heavy equipment and machinery.
  • The position requires the ability to read and interpret data and the capacity to professionally and effectively communicate (verbally and written) with both company and outside personnel.
  • Working conditions in natural gas compression vary from one job site to another. The work environment may be in hazardous locations.
