What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hypothalamic Research Assistant Instructor position at UT Southwestern Radiology?
The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hypothalamic Research, is seeking an Assistant Instructor. Duties and responsibilities include prior experience with genetically engineered mouse models and related breeding strategies, mouse physiology studies, stereotaxic brain surgery, glucose clamps, and other neuroanatomical techniques such as chemogenetics and optogenetics, histology, cell culture, and/or proteomics/lipidomics/transcriptomics/bioinformatics to her/his ongoing projects in the lab. Additional responsibilities will include the teaching and training of graduate students, housestaff, and fellows.
The position requires an M.D./Ph.D., or Ph.D., in a basic science and two to five years of postdoctoral experience. Candidates are expected to be self-motivated and to contribute substantively to the design, implementation, interpretation and reporting of investigational studies.
