BLASTERS! We are looking to add a 1st shift Blaster to our team. Do you have blasting experience and/or a mechanical background? The starting rate is $21.94 per hour. This position removes the lining and/or commodity from the interior and exterior of railcars by grit blast or an automated sponge blast system. The position does require work at elevated heights and in confined spaces. This is a great entry level position in a Union Shop to being your career!

UTC Railcar Repair Services LLC | A Marmon Rail Company is a full-service railcar repair shop in Sayre, Pennsylvania. We are currently hiring a 1st shift BLASTER. Standard operation is Monday through Friday, from 6:00 am to 2:25 pm. In this position, you would manually blast the interior and/or exterior of railcars with grit blast. When required, this position also operates an automated sponge blast system with manual assist. Blasting is completed on both the inside and the outside of the railcars.

Description of Duties / Qualifications:

• Must pass the applicable blaster tests as required
• Must be capable of understanding and performing the blasting requirements for interior and exterior of all types of railcars

Education Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Must be able to pass a Company skill assessment test

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stoop for extended periods and routinely move from kneeling to standing position
• Must be able to wear a respirator
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds from the ground surface
• Must be able to climb ladders and perform work at elevated heights
• Must be able to work in confined spaces
• Must be able to pass Company physical exam
• Must be able to pass alcohol and drug testing
• Must be able to pass vision acuity test

General Requirements:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now and in the future
