What are the responsibilities and job description for the RCP I position at Valley Children's Healthcare?
This position is accountable for managing the basic respiratory needs of patients in the Emergency, Acute Care and Critical Care units with consistency and a minimal degree of independence under the direction of the Medical Director. The incumbent delivers patient care in an efficient manner within the scope of the Respiratory Care Practice Act and Valley Children's Healthcare policies.

EXPERIENCE:
- Demonstrated basic mathematical calculation skills and understanding of age/cultural principles.
- RCP Staff with have attended NICU Intermediate Core class prior to starting orientation to the satellite units (NNN, HNN, MNN).
- Bilingual skills preferred.
EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Associate Degree with AMA approved Respiratory Care Program required.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) required.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire or transfer into position.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 12 months of hire or transfer into position.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 12 months of hire or transfer into position if in Acute Care/PICU.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required prior to hire or transfer into position if in NICU.
- Neonatal/Pediatric Specialty (NPS) preferred.
