What are the responsibilities and job description for the Strategic Sourcing Specialist position at Valley Children's Healthcare?
The Strategic Sourcing Specialist is responsible for the review, analysis, coordination, communication, and administration of product changes, additions or deletions. Provides detailed cost analysis to stakeholders for conversion/standardization opportunities. Coordinates product trials, conversions, completes changes to the Supply Chain Management information system, and provides product information to clinical and Supply Chain staff for ordering. Is a non-clinical member of/and provides analytical support for strategic sourcing. Works collaboratively with MDC Inventory Specialist on all product changes.

EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum three (3) years Sourcing experience, preferably in a healthcare setting
- Minimum three (3) years GPO contracts, purchasing and vendor product knowledge preferably in the healthcare field.Proven results in previous positions related to project management for GPO/local contract management, distribution supplier source changes/optimization and product conversions preferred
- Ability to gain and maintain positive relationships with staff, clinicians, physicians, suppliers, GPO partners and senior leadership
- Must have organizational and communication skills to manage independent projects
- Analytical skills necessary to develop and execute a variety of financial and operational analyzes
- Problem solving skills to manage day to day challenges and develop and execute long term improvement
- Competent in use of Excel, MSWord and Lawson (ERP) and other database programs needed to perform job duties
- Successful candidate will have an understanding of value analysis
EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
- College Degree - 4 year in Business Management or related field required
