Valley Pacific Petroleum Services, Inc. is looking for a qualified candidate to join our team as a Customer Service Representative for the graveyard shift, from 9:30 PM to 6:00 AM, at our Santa Maria location. The Customer Service Representative operates a retail facility by providing top notch customer service, while accurately transacting sales of fuel and merchandise. The role involves working in a quiet environment during certain times, but candidates must be proactive and able to stay productive by completing necessary tasks during downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Always provides top quality customer service to every customer.
- Performs daily station cleaning and maintains a safe work environment.
- Complies with company standards on carding customer for all age restricted products.
- Prepares food & drinks, cleans, stocks, and maintains food prep area in compliance with health codes.
- Stocks and merchandise as instructed by management.
- Conducts Loss Prevention Observations, Loss Investigation and Near Loss Investigations.
- Be proactive and stay productive even during slow periods (e.g., organizing, restocking, completing tasks from management).
- Monitor and ensure the smooth operation of all systems and processes during quiet periods.
Qualifications
Required Skills/Experience:
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and unsupervised in both a fast-paced environment and during slower periods.
- Ability to stay engaged and manage time effectively during slow periods with minimal customer traffic.
- Ability to work standing without defined break periods and occasionally work extended shifts as assigned by management.
- Ability to bend, twist and lift at least 50 lbs. in narrow spaces.
- Ability to work in varying outdoor climates and in-store cooler environments.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends.
Compensation and Benefits:
