Position Description
Material & Equipment Manager
Vee-Jay is a concrete contracting company with a passion and understanding of the construction industry and the tools to accomplish the job.
This position is responsible for the overall management of the yard for Vee-Jay Cement Contracting.
Key Activities :
- Procurement, Warehousing, & Distribution
- Equipment & Tool Management
- Facilities Management
- Inventory Oversight
Responsibilities :
- Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow. Revises schedule according to work order specifications, established priorities and availability or capability of workers and equipment.
- Ensure high level of safety adherence to safety policies and procedures for yard personnel.
- Monitor weekly & monthly inventory reports and analysis of usage.
- Work closely with Cost team to ensure proper monthly billing for equipment and tools.
- Maintains communications with Shop Manager to ensure a maintenance plan for all tools and equipment is in enforced.
- Provide oversight of equipment inventory management to reduce theft, loss, and increase equipment utilization.
- Researches new tools, equipment, and methods to increase material / equipment inventory control and equipment usage.
- Identify and implement new work processes where needed.
