Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Camp Counselors to join our team for an exciting summer camp experience. As a Camp Counselor, you will play a crucial role in creating a safe, fun, and engaging environment for children. You will be responsible for supervising campers, leading activities, and fostering personal growth and development in an outdoor fueled environment.
You will be responsible for attending the 2 staff training weeks to ensure that you are prepared and have learned the high rope safety guidelines and facilitation.
This position is ideal for individuals who have a passion for working with children and possess skills in education and behavior management.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and ensure the safety of campers at all times during camp activities.
- Plan, organize, and lead various recreational and educational activities tailored to different age groups.
- Provide guidance and support to campers in their personal development and social interactions.
- Implement behavior management strategies to maintain a positive camp environment.
- Collaborate with fellow counselors to create an inclusive atmosphere that promotes teamwork and friendship.
- Assist with daily camp operations, including setting up activities, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring all equipment is safe for use.
- Communicate effectively with campers, and staff regarding camper progress and any concerns that may arise.
Experience
- Previous experience in childcare or education settings such as babysitting, daycare, or early childhood education is preferred.
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques and special education practices is a plus.
- High ropes, knots, climbing, safety for outdoor climbing are a plus.
- A strong understanding of child development principles and behavior management strategies is essential.
- Ability to engage children in various activities while promoting their emotional well-being.
