Verigent Staffing is looking for cable technicians in the Venice, FL area. Our clients need technicians that are proficient with all aspects of structured cabling. This is a long-term contract with the possibility to be taken on permanently if you do well.

Pay: W2 Format - Direct Deposit or Check weekly every Friday
Position Qualifications:
- This person must be able to trouble shoot all types of cabling systems. This includes the ability to use and demonstrate to others the proper use of tools such as a Fluke/Microtest cable scanner or equivalent, TDRs, and OTDRs. Must be able to respond to a service call alone, or with the appropriate crew, and verify / correct the problem.
- Completion of all of the in house workmanship training courses.
- Person must be knowledgeable with OSHA codes, NEC codes, safety policies and TIA/EIA standards which pertain to this industry.
- Person must be knowledgeable with all of the workmanship & quality standards.
- Written and verbal communication skills.
- Organizational skills.
- Strong workmanship quality and technical skills which relate to this industry.
- Ability to manage a crew of 2-4.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks on a project.
- Understand the project scope of work and the associated material and labor spread sheets.
- Workday, night or weekend hours as required.
- Travel out of town as required by the project.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- The lead technician is required for the direct supervision of his/her own crew in order to ensure that the project is being installed in an orderly and timely fashion following all the necessary quality and safety practices.
- Kit and requisition all required materials and tooling for the assigned project.
- Lead technician must be able to effectively perform all installation and termination skills necessary to complete all projects. This includes fiber optic termination, fiber optic mechanical and fusion splicing and copper splicing.
- Attend the required leadership / administrative training courses.
- Support and enforce all related Safety and workmanship standards.
- Support and enforce all policies as outlined with the employee handbook.
- Perform on site coaching and training to other crewmembers.
- Assist the Project Managers with personnel reviews.
- Assist the quality control department by performing an informal quality audit on the job sites currently assigned.
- Assist with the coordination of tooling on the job sites.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
