About the Role:
•Position: Therapeutic Advocate (T.A.) at Sheldon Academy
•Location: Rutland, VT 05701 (Relocation required)
•Pay: $15.75 - $16.00 per hour
•Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday to Friday 8am-4pm
Key Responsibilities:
•Implement behavior management strategies and classroom schedules.
•Develop, monitor, and record individualized behavior and educational goals.
•Provide behavioral interventions and support for various learning styles, ensuring crisis intervention and training.
•Communicate with students, parents, and LEAs; maintain behavioral and academic data.
•Assist with planning academic and recreational activities; support team collaboration.
Qualifications:
•High School Diploma required; B.S. or B.A. in Child Development or related field preferred, with a minimum of 2 years of experience working with behaviorally/emotionally disturbed children.
•Preferably 1 year of experience in behavioral health or educational support roles.
•Valid Vermont driver's license, insurance on file, and criminal background check.
•Strong communication, empathy, and organizational skills.
•Ability to handle physical and emotional challenges.
