Vernon Memorial Healthcare (VMH) is looking for an inspiring and passionate Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to lead our clinical team and drive exceptional patient-centered care in the beautiful Driftless Region of Wisconsin. What You'll Do:
- Act as a critical liaison between medical staff and administration, advocating equitably for both clinician and organizational needs.
- Lead initiatives in safety, regulatory compliance, quality improvement, and operational efficiency, ensuring a patient-centered approach and sustainable programming.
- Play an active role in strategic planning, aligning clinical objectives with the long-term goals of the organization to enhance healthcare delivery and patient outcomes.
- Encourage diversity of thought to support innovation, creativity and continuous improvement to drive a culture of collaboration and accountability.
- Create an organizational culture of mutual trust, transparency and integrity with a focus on retention and engagement strategies.
- Balance clinical and administrative responsibilities by maintaining part-time clinical practice, reinforcing a hands-on connection to patient care.
What We're Looking For:
- Active (or eligibility to obtain) Medical Licensure (M.D. or D.O.) in Wisconsin
- 5 years of clinical practice experience, with 2 years in a leadership role
- Advanced training and education in strategic business practices with competence in financial and operational aspects of a rural health care organization
- Expertise in healthcare regulations, risk management, and quality standards
- Outstanding leadership and influential communication skills, with a strong commitment to teamwork, collaboration and responsiveness
- A passion for continuous improvement efforts and serving rural communities to drive positive and sustainable change
