We at Vertex Area are looking to cultivate a new management team that can work to build foundational policies and exemplary customer service to grow and expand the business over the coming years. Supervisory roles are filled by self starters who are open to mentorship and oversight from the current management team to develop their skills into becoming a core part of our business. Supervisors at Vertex Arena can be focused on a single department like our Amusement, Reservations, Parties, and Restaurant/Bar or be flexible in each department. We work with you via on the job training and mentorship to find the position that best suits your strengths.

Dedicated Leader

This is a critical position within the Leadership Team at Vertex Arena. A Supervisor works directly with our frontline Amusement and Customer Service staff to ensure that our customers have the safest and most enjoyable experience we can engineer. A successful Supervisor is a motivator, trainer and problem solver. Additionally, the successful Supervisor holds staff accountable to the standards and expectations of the Company in the areas of safety, cleanliness, and first-rate customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct day-to-day safety, productivity, efficiency and customer service of front line staff.
  • Monitor compliance with safety guidelines, build safety awareness and ensure front line staff enforce rules with customers at all times.
  • Assist with hiring, training, coaching, and contributing to evaluating employee performance under the direction of Assistant Manager.
  • Document employee behavior and deliver feedback and/or disciplinary action as required.
  • Distribute and monitor staff schedules, coordinate and cover staff breaks.
  • Complete opening, daily, and closing procedures/checklists in strict accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Work in ratio with front line staff in assigned work area(s).
  • Assist in ongoing development and improvement of employee training model.
  • Gain and utilize in-depth knowledge of CenterEdge POS software and hardware systems.
  • Respond to customer complaints and conflicts in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support parties & event booking over the phone and onsite.
  • Help in the restaurant and bar as needed.
  • Attend or contribute to meetings and events as required.
  • Accurate cash handling and reporting.
  • Manage and maintain cleanliness and appearance of the facility.
  • Follow procedure for timely reporting of safety and maintenance concerns.
  • Manage staff recognition program.
  • Assist with Safety Committee and Employee Health & Safety Program under the direction of Assistant Manager.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Desired Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • High School graduate or equivalent (GED).
  • A minimum of 6 months of supervisor experience in hospitality, retail, or restaurant preferred.
  • Prior restaurant and bar experience preferred but not required
  • OSHA/DOSH/WISHA familiarity.
  • Proficient reading, writing and math skills.
  • Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and policy documents, as well as, converse comfortably with customers.
  • Work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Quickly grasp, demonstrate and communicate new policies and procedures.
  • Exercise good judgment in personal actions and decisions.
  • Prioritize tasks and proven organizational skills.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite software: Word and Excel.
  • Clearly communicate performance expectations in written and verbal format.
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
  • State accepted Food Handlers Permit or ability to obtain within 14 days of hire.
  • Ability to operate a 2-way radio.

  • Position Availability: Immediate;
  • Pay: Starting pay between $18-$25, DOE;
  • Up to 30 hours per week with weekend and/or holiday coverage required;
  • Reports to: Operations Manager;
  • Opportunity to be promoted to full-time salary-based position;
  • Training will be provided;
  • Staff uniform required;
  • Growth opportunity.
