About the Role We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Construction Buyer to manage the procurement of materials, equipment, and services for our HVAC and plumbing projects. This role is critical in ensuring that VMG operates efficiently by maintaining optimal inventory levels, negotiating favorable terms, and building strong relationships with vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Source, negotiate, and procure construction materials, equipment, and services within project budgets and timelines.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, ensuring consistent quality and reliable delivery schedules.
- Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and field staff to determine purchasing needs and specifications.
- Monitor market trends and pricing to ensure cost-effective procurement practices.
- Review purchase requisitions, issue purchase orders, and track orders to ensure timely delivery.
- Evaluate supplier performance and negotiate contracts to maximize value for VMG.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities and inventory levels.
- Resolve any issues related to delays, quality, or discrepancies in orders.
