Are you an experienced veterinary assistant looking for new opportunities to expand your skills and knowledge? Do you thrive in a fast paced environment?Bay Beach Veterinary Emergency Hospital is currently looking for an Emergency Veterinary Assistant.
Our hospital is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide excellent care to our patients and community. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will assist in the monitoring and care of our hospitalized patients, complete hourly treatments, triage incoming patients and work side by side with our skilled and knowledgeable team. We offer a differential pay in addition to base pay for evening, overnight and weekend shifts. Our ideal candidate will have:
- Experience as a veterinary assistant (1 year minimum)
- Strong restraint skills
- Multi-tasking ability
- Flexibility
- Excellent communication skills
- Desire and drive to learn new skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced, emergency setting
- Basic math skills
- Basic pharmaceutical knowledge
- Excellent spelling and grammar

- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in veterinary medicine
- Ability to lift and or carry up to 50 lbs frequently
- Ability to walk, stand, and bend for sustained periods
- Ability to use hand and arms to handle and position animals, materials, equipment
