What are the responsibilities and job description for the (PT) VALET DRIVER position at VETPRIDE SERVICES INC?
VetPride Services is seeking a Valet Attendant in support of valet operations at the Edward Hines,Jr. Veteran Affairs Hospital. We provide a free vehicle parking and retrieval program for Military Veteran patients. VetPride Services gives preference on hiring Veterans and Military personnel.
Hourly Rate: $17.20
Health & Welfare: $4.41/hr (as required by the SCA for the sole purpose of purchasing benefits)
Shift(s):
- PT, Monday-Friday: 1:00pm-6:00pm
Location: Hines Veteran Affairs Hospital, 5000 S 5th Ave, Hines, IL 60141
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet valet customers in a pro manner upon their arrival/departure.
- Open doors, assist customers as needed with wheelchair or walker.
- Provide directions as needed.
- Perform valet area access control responsibilities.
- Safely operate various vehicles types to/from the valet areas.
- Closely inspect all vehicles for damage and record findings on valet ticket.
- Secure all vehicles and return key tag and keys to the valet podium.
- Follow safe driving procedure and safety protocols at all times.
- Abide by all rules and regulations set by the VA.
- Report to duty in company issued uniform; personal hygiene and a professional appearance is expected at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Will be subject to a pre-employment criminal background and DMV check.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Regularly work outdoors in inclement weather including rain, snow, heat and cold.
- Must possess strong customer service skills and the ability to respond calmly and professionally when handling conflict.
- Consistent attendance and reliability required.
- Ability to understand, speak, and write basic English.
- Regularly stand for long periods (6-8 hours) and walk quickly.
- Ability to lift to 30 pounds.
- Must have the ability to work independently and within established guidelines, follow directions, and work well with others.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Technical capabilities and basic computer knowledge.
- Must possess a smartphone to utilize Time & Attendance features.
Experience Requirements
- 1-year experience driving manual and automatic transmissions.
- Valet experience preferred, but not required.
