Duties & Responsibilities :
Job Summary :
The SW Dev Engineer II will work on projects for our fiber inspection microscopes used globally to deploy and maintain fiber networks. The role includes designing and developing low level and high level Linux applications. This person will be responsible for writing code, testing software, fixing bugs, and interacting closely with other engineers and stakeholders to ensure quality standards are met. They will also participate in peer reviews, our agile process, and contribute to technical documentation.
Responsibilities :
- Designs, develops, tests, deploys, maintains, and enhances software systems and / or applications for Viavi's fiber inspection microscopes
- Tests software systems and / or applications for compliance to specifications and requirements
- Participates in Agile Process
- Resolves software defects reported by V&V team and users
- Works closely with other developers to understand project requirements and translate them into technical designs
- Works closely with other teams including V&V and PLM
