**Description**

Viceroy Chicago, located in the exclusive Gold Coast neighborhood, will mark Viceroys first destination in the Windy City. Located at the site of the 1920's-era Cedar Hotel, among historic mansions and just steps to the Magnificent Mile and Lake Michigan, Viceroy Chicago will offer a locally-inspired luxury experience with 180 guestrooms, including 18 suites. Explore modern, Midwest flavors at the hotels restaurant or head up to the rooftop bar, pool and lounge, perched 18 stories high for a sweeping panorama of Great Lake views and Chicagos iconic, soaring skyline.

**Scope of this position:**

* Provide arriving guests with a prompt, gracious greeting and seat them comfortably with menus.

* Take reservations by phone and in person, providing helpful, accurate responses to inquiries.

* Ensure that tables are clean and set before seating guests and seating charts for station rotations are maintained.

* Tidy the service podium, keeping it organized, and maintain a supply inventory.

* Assisting with table set up when needed as well as moving tables and chairs when required

* To have excellent knowledge of all menu items, including but not limited to wine and beverage lists, and communicating this knowledge to the guest in an enthusiastic and professional manner on the phone or in person.

* Take customer food and beverage order when needed

**Qualified candidates will possess the following:**

* Minimum of 1 year experience in similar position. Hotel restaurant experience preferred.

* Must be willing to work a flexible schedule in order to accomplish all major responsibilities and tasks inclusive of weekends and holidays.

* Must work in a safe, prudent and organized manner.

* Must be able to multitask and keep on pace with business volumes

* Must have excellent communication skills.

* Must be able communicate clearly in a friendly manner

* Able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 5 hours in length

* Able to lift up to 30lbs
