Viking Life-Saving Equipment A/S, a global leader in maritime, offshore, and fire safety solutions, is seeking a dedicated Life Raft Service Technician to join our team. We provide and service essential safety and firefighting equipment, playing a vital role in keeping people safe at sea, on rigs, and beyond.
About the Role:
In this crucial role, you'll be directly contributing to our mission of saving lives by ensuring the optimal performance and safety of life rafts entrusted to us. You'll work closely with customers, both existing and potential, to maintain excellent relationships through informative, efficient, and friendly service. As a team player, you'll collaborate effectively with colleagues across different departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive servicing of life rafts to verify their functionality and adherence to safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate checklists and ensure all life raft components are present and functional.
- Verify current expiration dates for critical life raft equipment.
- Perform life raft load tests (every 2 years) and gas inflation tests (every 5 years) according to regulations.
- Handle life raft container changes, cleaning, repairs, and proper labeling as required.
- Oversee life raft deliveries, pickups, and ensure adherence to port security measures and time constraints.
- Maintain a clean and organized life raft storage area.
- Assist with maintaining the general work environment, including cleaning and minor property upkeep.
- Collaborate with the sales department in preparations for local boat shows.
Authority:
- Independently determine necessary life raft replacements and testing procedures.
- Maintain accurate and complete life raft documentation.
