What are the responsibilities and job description for the Park Service Aide position at Village of Pinecrest?
Performs maintenance and custodial duties of park facilities. Responsible for the safety and supervision of participants in Village coordinated functions and enforcement of all park rules and regulations.
- Maintains assigned park facility by performing general maintenance and clean up duties, such as, the emptying of trash, sweeping, mopping and vacuuming, wiping down tables and chairs and other furnishings, replenishing toilet paper and hand towels, raking leaves, cleaning concession area, petting zoo area, parking lots, restrooms, and ball fields.
- Performs manual work in semi-skilled jobs involving maintenance, repair of buildings and grounds and minor construction, including pressure cleaning, graffiti removal, painting and other related tasks.
- Provides courteous, prompt and knowledgeable customer service to the public in person and on the telephone by providing general information regarding programs and events, facility rentals and memberships; greets visitors in a friendly and sincere manner.
- Monitors assigned park facility and assists in park inspections to ensure the safety of the public and park facilities; advises supervisor of safety hazards and non-routine repairs as needed.
- Performs concession and cashier duties involving the sale of retail products conducting cash and credit card transactions.
- Performs admission booth duties selling admission tickets and collecting payments.
- Assists with the coordination of recreational activities, including setting up and cleaning of rooms for recreational activities and party rentals.
- Performs production assistance during performances.
- Assists in assembling and building of theater scenery.
- Enforces safety and other department rules and regulations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Specialized training and experience as a camp counselor, aquatic facility operator or food handling certification is highly desired.
Additional Qualifications:
- Must possess excellent customer service skills and be able to establish good customer relations. Must have an ability to deal with people effectively, courteously and enthusiastically.
- Must be knowledgeable of the materials, methods and equipment typically used in recreational work and clean up duties.
- Must have knowledge of basic rules of safety and ability to enforce applicable rules and regulations.
- Must have the physical strength and agility to perform assigned tasks, which include, but are not limited to, bending, twisting, walking, climbing, reaching, lifting and carrying.
- Must maintain high ethical, honesty and moral standards.

- Must be able to fluently speak, hear, read and write in the English language. Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus.
- Must be a non-smoker.
- Applicants must complete all requirements established by the Village of Pinecrest for employment. This may include, but not limited to, a written examination, typing test, psychological screening to determine suitability for position, polygraph examination, comprehensive background investigation, and a job-related medical examination including a drug/alcohol screening test.

- Ability to learn to operate a digital sound system and theatrical light board.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a licensed driver status in the State of Florida.
