POSITION SUMMARY
The IT Manager role is the primary role for managing all technical aspects and relationships with our clients. They own the day-to-day needs of our clients as well as actively participate and lead goals agreed upon by the client and Vinson. They will manage all of the projects and delegate tasks to the teams. They will prepare appropriately for client meetings, lead discussions, and provide direct follow-ups.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes, but is not limited to the following:

Project Management & Client Services

  • Manage and provide support for technology-related projects (e.g., Security Camera system setups, upgrading or rewiring rooms, technology upgrades).

  • Identify new projects with the client and work with the Project Manager to build out the project.

  • Work in conjunction with Grid Services to implement Vinson Group, LLC standardized solutions for technology projects.

  • Ensure projects are completed within the designated timeline and close out projects upon completion.

  • Manage project deadlines and communicate any project issues to the team/upper management as appropriate.

  • Deliver project communication to clients and staff.

  • Communicate project milestones and updates on project status to the client.

  • Develop action plans, set timelines, and maintain continuous communication to manage the client’s expectations on a day-to-day basis.

  • Communicate outages to clients and staff on a consistent level.

  • Deliver the services outlined in the support contract developed for each client.

  • Act as a point of contact for clients ordering technology equipment.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Communicate updates to the Grid Services Team and make necessary documentation updates regarding the Account Services Sheet.

  • Communicate updates to the Grid Services Team and make necessary documentation updates regarding the Network & Infrastructure Sheet.

  • Own 3rd Party Vendor Sheet and confirm it is updated and accurate.

  • Own client Inventory documentation and ensure it is updated throughout the year.

  • Own all updates to the Account Services Sheet and ensure audit milestones are complete.

  • Work with the Grid Team to provide information for the Annual Audit of Accounts & Groups.

  • Verify clients receive their bi-weekly Health Check Report (tickets on hold).

Escalation & Ticket Management

  • Serve as an escalation point as needed for Field Technicians.

  • Escalate Network & Infrastructure and Data & Application Services tickets to Grid Services as needed.

  • Follow up on aged tickets (over 30 days old) by updating the ticket with a note no longer seven days.

  • Confirm tickets are completed promptly and properly, and provide follow-up on unresolved tickets.

  • Communicate with clients regarding critical/high visibility issues and escalate grievances as appropriate.

Team Leadership & Operations

  • Conduct daily team calls as needed.

  • Conduct monthly operations meetings.

  • Schedule monthly/quarterly meetings with all clients to conduct Operations Meetings (as outlined in the contract).

  • Collect feedback on technician performance from the client.

  • Conduct and document weekly Field Team Huddle calls to discuss any issues, company updates, or client feedback.

  • Participate in scheduled Regional Director team meetings and quarterly company training.

  • Assist the Regional Director of Technology in creating milestones, tasks, and planning for clients.

Field Technicians Management

  • Delegate daily work to Field Technicians and schedule them by location.

  • Serve as a point of contact for Field Technicians with questions/issues and provide guidance or escalation.

  • Set an example for the team by consistently demonstrating a high level of professionalism.

  • Act as a mentor and provide coaching and training to Field Technicians.

  • Conduct quarterly Touch Points and Annual Reviews with Field Technicians.

Team Leadership Skills & Development

  • Demonstrate ability to lead, inspire, and motivate a team, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.

  • Proven track record of mentoring, coaching, and developing team members, with a focus on individual growth and career progression.

Administrative Tasks

  • Ensure accuracy for both time and data entry by reviewing/submitting timesheets every week.

  • 3 years of IT-related experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field

  • 3 years of Education Information Technology experience

  • Industry Certifications related to the position

  • Experience working in a school or educational environment

  • Experience managing or mentoring employees

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This job operates in a professional school environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Other Physical Demands include:
  • Ability to talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to manipulate computer keyboard, objects, or controls.

  • Requires employee to frequently stand, climb, crawl, walk, pull, and/or push.

  • Vision abilities (with correction) include close, distance, and ability to adjust focus.

  • The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and typical work hours are Monday through Friday, 40 hours. Our hours of operation are from 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM. We offer flexible schedules from within this time frame to fit your needs. Overtime may be required on an as-needed basis.
