PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Responsible for promoting, maintaining and enhancing quality service to members by developing and conducting new and ongoing training courses/modules/learning interventions related to Virginia Credit Union operations. Apply project management skills and the instructional systems design (ISD) process in the development of learning solutions to support VACU’s training initiatives. Assist the HRD AVP with daily operations and personnel functions. Interacts with the HRD team and various business units to develop and conduct learning interventions that teach new or revised procedures and/or desired behavior. Conduct needs analysis, program design (paper-based and electronic), program delivery, program evaluation and participant management including the registration process and administration functions.

Knowledge:
Prefer four-year college degree in education, adult education, business or HRD development. 2-4years of experience with design and delivery of training courses and/or materials using the appropriate media channels. Experience in LMS implementation and/or maintenance, a plus.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works with internal clients at all levels to identify project requirements
- Applies project management skills and the ISD process in the development of learning solutions
- Scopes project efforts, develop project plans, and manage projects within the budget and time frame
- Strong planning skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
- Applies LEAN methodology to processes
- Performs as primary LMS Administrator
- Enters courses and course registrations into the LMS
- Maintain updated external courses
- Acts as liaison with LMS Account rep, LMS Support staff and external eLearning vendors
- Creates new employee profiles into the LMS
- Scheduling participants for requested sessions
- Schedules participants for external training workshops/courses/seminars/etc.
- Reviewing monthly updates and sharing with other LMS administrators/team new functionalities – making changes to the LMS as needed to best use new functionalities
- Setting up reports for other LMS administrators/team to use, including automated reports
- Writing macros to reformat/scrub report data to reduce time involved in preparing reports for clients
- Acts as primary VACUzone steward for the Learning Center site
- Routine maintenance of the Learning Center and KnowZone
- Develops processes to meet team members’/clients’ requests
- Creates workflows/forms to automate processes
- Develops, designs and maintains training materials including facilitator guides, participant guides, procedures and job aids
- Core client curriculum related to certification programs

- Uses various software packages (i.e., Articulate, Storyline, etc.) to develop eLearning modules within the LMS
- Applies ISD principles and methodology including: analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of learning programs
- Demonstrates a high level of creativity and the drive for innovation and improvement
- Administers the learning process, including:
- Schedules the various training facilities
- Assists with the development and publishing of the VACU Learning Center schedule
- Evaluates the transfer of understanding during the learning process and the transfer of knowledge as what is learned is transferred to the job (department impact/individual performance impact) for learning interventions, and/or curriculum’s and implements changes and/or enhancements as needed (Level 3 evaluation)
- Delivers training as requested by client groups and/or Human Resource Development Department

- Assists with the coaching of teammates in the design and delivery of training courses, modules, events, etc.
- Manages the HRD operations team in the absence of HRD AVP
- Assists with the management of the daily operations of HRD
- Assists with handling personnel issues such as tracking leave and sick time requests, coaching individuals, etc.
- Assists the HRD AVP with writing performance evaluations for team
- Assists HRD AVP in developing and conducting training programs as directed by SVP of Employee Development or our clients
- Contributes to the development of the department’s annual budget
- Assists with managing the tuition reimbursement program for employees
- Plays an integral role to the success of meeting the department goals
- Selects the appropriate delivery medium for training: instructor-led, eLearning, self-directed, and computer-based

- Performs general administrative duties
- Communicates special learning events and/or external learning opportunities
- Setting up and breaking down the training rooms
- Schedules training equipment requests
- Schedules participants for requested sessions
- Other duties may be required and assigned by the manager
Knowledge:
- Broad understanding of techniques and philosophies of adult learning
- Comprehensive knowledge of financial institution functions, philosophy, products, services, operations, financial software applications and delivery channels
- In-depth knowledge of instructional systems design principles and methodology (analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of the learning programs)
- LEAN Six Sigma
- Proficient PC skills to include MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Articulate, StoryLine and various other software applications
- Excellent communication, both written, oral, and presentation skills
