The College of Agriculture provides programs and services to improve the educational and socio-economic well-being of students, families, and communities-focusing on excellence through integrated instruction, research and extension programs
The Marketing and Communications Department is the central office responsible for promoting, protecting and managing the College of Agriculture and Agency 234 brand, as well as connecting research-based information with the public to improve people's quality of life. The department provides a full range of services to support Agency 234's efforts to increase attendance at, revenues for and public awareness of its programs. It also supports the marketing and communications efforts of the Virginia Cooperative Extension statewide system in conjunction with Virginia Tech and those of the entire 1890 land-grant system throughout the Southeast. The department is comprised of individuals with diverse marketing and communications backgrounds and skill sets who welcome the opportunity to work in a collaborative and creative environment and share a common desire for continuous process improvement.

Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities and/or Competencies required to successfully perform the work:
- Must possess a strong understanding of strategic marketing communications and the development of visual concepts that align with organizational goals.
- Excellent oral and advanced written communication skills, capable of conveying complex ideas clearly and effectively.
- Experience in agricultural communications is essential, along with a proven track record of progressive experience in research, education, and outreach programs.
- Must excel in time management, with the ability to prioritize tasks and ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
- Technical proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, Asana, Google Suite, SmugMug, or related digital asset management tools is required.
- Familiarity with current and emerging trends in multimedia production and technological advancements, with the ability to adapt to and integrate new technologies into workflows.
- Knowledge of cinematography, motion graphics, and experience developing and/or adhering to extensive visual brand guides and using a digital asset management system.
- Supervisor and/or management experience in developing and leading a team or professionals.
- Extensive working knowledge of pre-production, production, and post-production practices.
- Expertise in operating video production equipment, including cameras, lighting, audio, and editing software.
- Knowledge of ADA regulations and policies.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior experience within a Land-Grant University system is highly desirable.
- Minimum of a high-school diploma or GED Equivalent.
- Undergraduate degree in Communications, Media/Public Relations, and Interdisciplinary Education, preferred.
- Extensive background in agricultural/land-grant relations, preferred.
