Job Duties
The Biology Department at the Virginia Military Institute invites applications for a non-tenure track, adjunct position. This is a part-time position with an expectation of teaching primarily Core Curriculum introductory biology courses in-person. Our longer-term adjunct instructors may teach an upper-level course in their specialty. Class sizes are usually 16-24 cadets. Teaching load is up to two courses with laboratories per semester, with the possibility of additional classes in the summer. The current salary rate for one laboratory course is $9,832. The successful candidate will serve under a renewable contract. Full-time faculty at VMI wear uniforms and adhere to military customs, but adjunct instructors are not required. Military experience is not required.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum requirements are a master’s degree or at least 18 graduate hours in the biological sciences or related field..
