We welcome applications from skilled service professionals who are team-centric and positively energetic to join the museum as Kitchen Services Associates.
This is a non-exempt position without benefits, eligible to work up to approximately 28 hours per week on average and up to 1,450 hours annually (May 1 – April 30).

About the Work
The work is straightforward, helping each other out and working as a team to get the job done.
Here is how Kitchen Services Associates accomplish this as a team:
- Maintain a clean and organized dish area.
- Ensure trash and recycling are taken out.
- Help assist other dish areas in Best Cafe and Amuse restaurants when needed.
- Work on various cleaning tasks during down time.
- Organize dishes, silverware, platters, cups, plates, etc.
- Sweep and mop floors as needed (to include work areas, cafe, kitchen floors).
- Keep cleaning chemicals stocked and alert manager to equipment or product needs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to demonstrate a professional demeanor with guests and other employees.
- Ability to read, comprehend and follow basic direction and instruction.
- Ability to remain calm, professional and gracious in a fast paced, high-pressure environment.
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and appearance during events.
- Ability to be prompt and punctual to scheduled shifts.
- Ability to stand or walk for up to 10 hours.
- Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior general cleaning experience or hospitality related experience.
- General experience with cleaning chemicals and dish machines.
- Ability to work independently and effectively without direct supervision.
- ServSafe Food Handler’s certification is a plus.
Special Requirements
Selected candidates must pass a criminal history background check.
