BASIC FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

To accurately handle various transactions including cashing checks, paying withdrawals, accepting deposits, accepting payments and to share in the responsibility for the safety of depositor’s funds. In addition, maintain a positive and cheerful attitude while maintaining a high degree of service, accuracy, efficiency, goodwill, and communication skills. Plus, also sell, process services and cross-sell the bank’s products and services to new and existing customers.

Duties:

The position entails the following major duties under the direct supervision of:

Retail Banking Supervisor

• Cash and process Series EE or Series I Bonds.
• Issue cashier’s checks and bank drafts.
• Sell, process, service, and cross-sell all bank products and services such as demand deposit accounts, savings accounts, ATM cards, travelers checks, etc., to new and existing customers.
• Place check orders and maintain records daily.
• Perform all duties related to opening a new account according to Personal Banking Center Procedure Manual.
• Handle incoming calls promptly and professionally.
• Act as informative center for bank to direct customer to correct person or department.
• Accept in-person stop payment orders and renewals.
• Accept in-person changes to customer’s master file i.e.: name, address, cycle code, social security number, etc.
• Perform all duties related to closing checking and savings accounts.
• Provide information to customers via telephone inquiries and process telephone transfers.
• To cross-sell and make referrals of various bank services in order to meet or exceed operations objectives and goals.
• To operate a teller terminal which requires average 10-key proficiency.
• Perform all of the necessary duties to assure effective workflow and effective realization of total department goals.

EDUCATION DESIRED: High School graduate with some college.

EXPERIENCE DESIRED: One to two years banking experience.
