We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Assistant/Technician to join our dynamic team. This position requires a blend of clinical skills and customer service expertise to assist in the smooth operation of our office while ensuring patients receive the highest level of care.

Responsibilities

• Assist ophthalmologists during patient examinations and procedures, ensuring a comfortable experience for patients.
• Perform preliminary tests and gather medical history, including visual acuity tests, tonometry, and other diagnostic assessments.
• Educate patients on proper eye care practices, treatment options, and post-procedure instructions.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, ensuring compliance with medical terminology standards.
• Manage inventory of medical supplies and equipment; assist in ordering as necessary.
• Uphold cleanliness and organization within the clinical environment to promote safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Ophthalmic Assistant or in a similar healthcare role is preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ophthalmology is preferred.
• Familiarity with medical coding and billing practices is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
• A commitment to continuous learning and professional development within the field.
