To capitalize on this incredible growth and to achieve Visit Salt Lake’s ambitious vision, we’re seeking a detail-oriented, enthusiastic, and resourceful Video Editor to join our Marketing Team. This position supports Visit Salt Lake’s marketing and creative efforts by producing high-quality video content for various platforms, with an emphasis on innovative storytelling and audience engagement. The ideal candidate will work closely with the marketing team, follow creative direction, and contribute their own insights and ideas for video shoots and projects. This role includes coordinating with photographers, videographers, and media agencies to ensure seamless execution of projects and goals.


Primary Responsibilities:

Video Editing & Photography Composition:

  • Edit social media, multimedia, and promotional videos and photos with a modern, creative flair tailored to audience engagement.
  • Utilize advanced editing techniques to produce visually compelling and polished content.

Creative Direction:

  • Assist with conceptualizing video projects, providing creative input, and ensuring alignment with brand guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the creative team to guide the visual and narrative direction of projects.

Project Coordination:

  • Help plan and organize video shoots, including sourcing locations, and coordinating talent.
  • Help oversee both in-studio and on-location video shoots, ensuring high production quality.

Social Media Video Expertise:

  • Create innovative videos optimized for social media platforms, emphasizing short, impactful storytelling.
  • Stay up to date with social media trends and implement innovative ideas in video production.

Post-Production Quality Control:

  • Review and refine video content to ensure it meets brand standards and project goals.
  • Deliver completed video files effectively through platforms like YouTube, Vimeo, or other digital delivery systems.

Collaboration & Innovation:

  • Work closely with other departments to ensure the seamless integration of video content into campaigns.
  • Experiment with new techniques, styles, and formats to push creative boundaries.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in media production, film, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2-5 years of professional video editing experience with a portfolio or demo reel required.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Adobe Lightroom, and other editing tools.
  • Experience directing or collaborating on video and photo shoots.
  • Experience in spearheading projects or small teams and assisting with video production coordination.
  • Familiarity with current social media / videography trends and best practices for content.
  • Ability to shoot with professional cameras, lighting, and audio equipment.
  • Photography experience is a plus, with the ability to capture high-quality images when needed.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
